Gone are the days when traveling overseas was less complicated for anyone who had little or no knowledge of English. On your comfortable level with the subject will hinge your visa to the UK, which is soon passing a bill to make English knowledge compulsory for an immigrant.

The gates of UK seem to be closing for an ordinary person, who is neither a doctor nor an engineer or a professional, because to travel to UK for better pastures, applicants will have to pass either an internationally recognized English test or prove that they have learnt English from a prominent institution.

Such tough measures for immigrants especially come in the wake of increased terror plots against the UK that are increasingly proving it vulnerable to terrorism. Especially when most of those nabbed terrorists belong to Asia, the tougher rules would make entry difficult for anyone who cherishes a life in the United Kingdom. Also, the number of illegal migrants to the UK has been continuously on the rise, so the new law will help contain that.

On one side, the strict law makes entry for overseas workers difficult and on the other gives a slump to the growing British economy relying heavily on the skills of its immigrants.
