Maoists killed 12 policemen in an ambush attack in Chattisgarh, another gory massacre.
Chattisgarh has been a safe haven for Maoists because of tribal influence, the entire area being a forest zone, and Naxals get a secure passage through intersection between Andhra and Orissa, where it is rampant. Lack of proper infrastructure facilities and arms is hindering the progress of anti-Naxal operations in the state.

Every time, we hear Naxals slaughtering so many policemen in an ambush. The reason being Naxals are proficient with modern weaponry and artillery, while our police force still continues to suffer with outdated weapons. In a recent ambush attack in Jegurugonda near Dornapal in Chattisgarh, Maoists killed 12 policemen including an inspector, during a road repair work. The incident has taken the police casualties killed by Maoists up.
At present, besides terrorism Naxalism and Maoism pose the biggest internal security threat to India that has spread to half of the states in the country. in Chattisgarh especially, a civil society group called Salwa Judum has been formulated to fight Naxalism. However, the increasing incidents of Maoist violence have hit the nation hard and point towards an urgent need to combat the increasing human slaughter.
